GRANNY RIPPLE TUTORIAL -FREE PATTERN

This stitch is basically a “granny” version of the very famous chevron stitch.

I am currently using this stitch for a making a bag .It’s very simple and comes up really fast .so here is a step by step guide

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

I am using 100%acrylic polyester yarn

Hook size 2.5mm

This stitch is worked up in dc

For the granny ripple you need to work in multiples of 18 +1

I made 36 +1 stitches for the swatch

ROUND 1

Now from the fifth chain from the hook make 3 dc all in the same st

Skip 2 st, in the third st make another cluster of 3 dc

Skip 2 st, in the third st make 3 dc, chain2 3 dc all in the same st. This will be the “peak”.

Skip 2 st, in the third st make 3 dc

Again skip 2 st, in the third st make 3 dc

Now skip 5 st, in the sixth st make 3 dc .this will be the “valley”.

Skip 2 st, in the third st make 3 dc

Again skip 2 st , in the third st make 3 dc chain 2 and 3 dc all in the same st.

Skip 2 st , in the third st make 3 dc

Skip 2 st , in the third st make 3 dc

Chain 3 and turn

Round 2 will be a repeat of round 1

3 dc in the space of previous clusters

Again 3 dc in the space of previous round clusters

Now 3 dc chain 2 and 3 dc in the “peak”

Again 3 dc in the space of previous clusters

Repeat this in the next space too

Now skip the next 2 clusters for making the “valley”

Again make 3 dc in the next 2 spaces

Make a “peak” again by doing 3 dc chain 2 and 3 dc in the same space

Do 3 dc in the next 2 spaces

Now do 1 dc in the last chain of the cluster

Chain 3 and turn

Repeat round 2 for the entire project

Your row should always start with a chain 3 and end with 1 dc in the last chain of the cluster.

So that’s it. I hope I made it simple for you to understand. It’s really easy and comes up really fast . I am using this ripple for my next project. Will keep u guys updated.
